Our story

Underwood water, since the 1920s

The Underwood family has been drilling water wells in central North Carolina since the 1920s. Charles R. Underwood, Inc. was founded in 1965 and has grown into a full-capability water company — drilling, pumps, field service, and a 75,000 sq ft repair shop — serving municipal, industrial, agricultural, and residential customers across NC and the Southeast.

Today the company is led by Russell D. Underwood, President. The scale has changed; the standard hasn't: know the water, size it right, and stand behind the work. It's why engineers and homeowners alike still make CRU their source for pumping solutions.
